Event Description
|
The ABA Masters Invitational is a new event for 2004, and will be held each year during the summer months (typically May through July). Featuring the top Atlanta-area players in a classic multi-match format battle for trophies, added prize money, and bragging rights, entry into this exclusive event is 'by invitation only'. Entry into the tournament is free, but players must qualify based on their lifetime perfomance in local ABA touraments. Invitations are extended to players who have earned an ABA Lifetime MasterPoints award. All current and former ABA Players of the Year and Club Champions are also eligible to enter the ABA Masters Invitational. To advance in the tournament, players must win two-of-three 9-point matches against the paired opponent. Play is scheduled between opponents at convenient times, and may be played either 'live' or online. The Masters Invitational tournament winner is awarded a handsome ABA Masters Champion trophy, cash and merchandise prizes, and bragging rights for life. |
